How long does a Hair Transplantation Procedure Take?
No one can put an exact time frame without knowing the number of grafts that the patient would need in order to conceal the bald patch. Larger the number of grafts needed, longer the transplant would take.
Usually a hair transplant session runs for a few hours. The patient is allowed to take a break when procedure is half done. Patient can take light food and can walk to ease himself. Afterwards surgeon performs the rest of the procedure.
Sometimes when a patient needs more grafts hair transplant session stretches to a 2 days period. First day surgeon performs FUT and the next day remaining hair grafts are transferred through FUE. This combination of two methods is used on patients who are severely bald.
Will the procedure be painful?
Pain is associated with every surgical procedure and of course hair transplant is no exception. However, we cannot quantify pain because its level is different for different individuals. What is considered painful by one person may be considered slightly discomforting for another and vice versa.
Majority of patients who had their hair done with strip removal claim that they felt a little pain in the donor area. This pain is due to the excision of a strip of scalp. People who opted for FUE say that they experienced only a slight discomfort.
Hair transplant is a dream choice of many who want to regain their hair. It does not only return your hair but also makes you confident and self-assured. So, are you ready to earn your confidence back?
